By instilling and encouraging a safe work culture, everyone at Westcor becomes an active participant in seeing that all of us and the many workers we interact with on our project sites are able to return home safely every day.
At Westcor we have taken proactive steps to:
- Develop additional safe work practices and procedures for existing and new work along with Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for pre-job safety analysis.
- Standardize job reporting procedures to ensure a consistent safe work environment for all our employees on all jobs.
- Implement a meaningful Modified Work Program.
- Provide additional training to our direct field supervisors to enable them to enhance our safety program.
- Develop a safety handout reference guide as supplement to our existing Safety Manual for new employee orientation.
- Train employees in task specific procedures and safe and proper use of equipment.
In 2003, Westcor is proud to have received an award from Shell, ChevronTexaco and Western Oilsands in recognition of our contribution to “Outstanding Contractor Safety Performance” on the Athabasca Oilsands Project.
