Syncrude UE-1 Project

• The Syncrude UE-1 project was on an extreme fast track but Westcor met every schedule requirement.
• Working over 70,000 hours with no lost time incidents and no medical aids.
• Fireproofing over 95 modules in four separate general contractors’ facilities with a total value over $5 M.
• Installation of over 150,000 square feet of Pyrocrete and concrete fireproofing without a single non-compliance report by the owner’s representatives.

• Construction of the Albian Sands Energy project began in April 2001. Westcor, together with our joint venture partner Clayton Coatings Inc., have been on site through all phases including start up, shutdown phases 1, 2 and 3 and now on project work.
• Westcor received the Outstanding Contractor Safety award for performance on site.
• More than $35 M. of work was completed by Westcor involving over 400,000 man-hours with no lost time incidents.
• Services included installation of over 350,000 square feet of pyrocrete fireproofing site wide and over 100,000 linear feet of pipe insulation and stainless steel cladding (during the construction phase).

• For over three years, Westcor has been awarded the annual maintenance contract for BC Hydro’s Burrard Generating Station to supply ongoing insulation and asbestos abatement services.
• The scope of work on this project includes asbestos removal and reinsulation of the boilers, turbine piping and related equipment.
• Westcor is proud to have had no lost times and no medical aids.

• The Albian Cable Tray Fireproofing Project required over 100,000 scaffold man-hours to complete with no lost time incidents.
• Westcor installed over 50,000 square feet of 3M Interam E-mat, providing the fire rating for cable trays, valves and actuators and providing fireproofed boxes for electrical panels.
• Services also included management of the scaffold labour and materials.

• Westcor is supplying Shell Canada Limited's refinery, the Scotford Upgrader, stainless steel fireproof boxes and cylinders for valves and actuators.
• Utilizing 3M Interam E-mat, the design was developed by Westcor and our alliance partner Thermal Designs, the distributor of the Interam E-mat product line.

• At the EPCOR Genesee Power Plant, Westcor was awarded the insulation for the turbine, turbine piping, turbine, pumps, HVAC piping, and heat exchangers.
• Westcor provides insulation and cladding for the Canadian Hitachi Plant Construction Company, the main contractor.
• The project is scheduled for completion by the third quarter 2004.

• Following the tightly scheduled maintenance program of the BC Ferries fleet of vessels, Westcor works closely with Deas Pacific Marine on the coordination and sequencing of the maintenance and refit work.
• Work includes insulation, cladding, fireproofing, and asbestos removal on numerous BC Ferries vessels at their maintenance subsidiary, Deas Pacific Marine (DPM).
• Also includes installation of firestopping and fireproof insulation in accordance with the Department of Transport's marine safety regulations.

• Westcor has worked for Vancouver Shipyards on two major refits, the Queen of Coquitlam and the Queen of Cowichan.
• The work involved the installation of marine fire and thermal insulation and cladding in the engine room, car decks and passenger decks.
• Despite an aggressive schedule, Westcor met all critical dates and completed the work with no lost time accidents.
